I have been waiting on this one! I think they are absolutely beautiful and the TEC X with the strong lofts are good for this old man who is chasing more distance.
Loving my Forged Tec X’s! Like you said Andy…what’s the point of blending with regular Forged Tec? For mid/high handicappers you’re getting everything you could possibly want (feel, sound, distance, forgiveness) to help make the game easier with the X set. And cheaper than other brands. My bag was Taylormade at beginning of this year…now it’s mostly Cobra – LTDx driver/Forged Tec X irons and the Supernova putter
The stronger lofts are starting to appeal to me more and more. I love the look and reviews of the P790’s but the tec x is what I really could do with. 5-gap would give me 21 degrees of loft through to 48 degree and that would fit nicely into my idea of have a 54 & 58 wedge in the bag instead of 55. & 60. I could have a 12 club bag with putter driver and a 16.5 fairway wood. 🤔

I will be trying them but a 27° seven iron is awfully strong. It's like the Mavrik standard irons and I couldn't hold a green with an 8 iron Mavrik in the summer.
Having my fitting next week.As I play the one length radspeed I'm looking at 5/6 one length then forged tec x for the rest can't wait to see how we get on.
These are lovely looking clubs and they sounded great in the video , great video Andy
I have been considering doing exactly this, blending the Forged Tec X 5-7 Irons (1* Weak) and the Forged Tec 8-PW (1* Strong)…I have always had issues getting my longer irons in the air and I think that a blended set may be just what I need as I really enjoyed the way that the Forged Tec played in the short irons as I like to move the ball around the green.
I'd like to see your numbers between the two with a 9 iron, would it make a difference with a scoring iron.

Much improved looks on the older model. Certainly liking the forged tec x. Any thoughts on one length 5 and 6 iron and 7-pw in standard?
Those are some beautiful looking clubs. I recently bought a set of the 2020 Forged Tec irons and can't see getting rid of them anytime soon, but who knows, in a year or two when the prices come down, I may pick up a set of the Forged Tec X's.

Hollow bodied irons look good in that they mimic the look of forged blades but I have doubts whether they offer any real performance or forgiveness gains over similar size cavity backs. There's only so much you can do with moving the CG around within an iron shape and the extra distance comes from messing about with lofts. They label it a 7 iron and give you a 6 instead.
Been waiting hoping you would review these irons. I'm a big srixon fan as you know …but these could be going in my bag . Just wanted to see the difference between the tec and the tec X. Thanks Andy 👍

Excellent look at a solid product. I have the Tec Xs in my bag and have been loving them. I completely agree that the LTD rescue clubs leave a little to be desired when compared to the Stealth rescue.
I got the x's as well Andy 6-gap and the forged tec 5 hybrid !🥰
Never found cobra clubs that eye appealing nor have I ever had good results testing them out. Guess if they are copying clubs then copying Taylor made can’t be a bad thing. Heard Rickie Fowler will be jumping ship soon and will be full Taylor made in the near future.
One length would appeal to me as i use the "single plane swing" as it is easier on my back. i will have to wait a year or 2 as i brought DCB's last year.
I would go for the TEC X.
I have a set if the text X's on order. Really looking forward to getting them. Look awesome and felt great when I tries them in a fitting session.
