This could absolutely be its own channel. Great stuff guys!
I grip my own, would never chance a flame on my shaft , a few minutes with finger nails work, BUT you never mentioned grip alignment
Do you ever put a grip “dry”, with an air compressor?
Good tip to lightly use heat to remove tape—. The hardest part of a regrip
Can you save a newer golf grip. Just had one installed on my driver. Ended up changing the settings on the driver and now the align grip is off center. Only had the grip on for about 3 weeks.
Super cool! I like the half tape technique, never saw that before
Easiest method to remove sticky tape / stickers: boil water and let the heat from the steam melt that old glue away. Watch your fingers!
Not using enough solvent i think is the biggest mistake people make.
Very educational.

Has saved me so much time and you can keep the grips.
Nice video and setup. I’ve been changing my own grips for about 20 years using a Black & Decker workmate table and a GolfWorks gripping station which mounts to a vice but I put it in the table and lock it secure. It’s a great setup where you secure the grip in the tray then slide the shaft into it. When you lift up the club it detaches from the grip holder.
I also have a utility knife with a Hook blade which definitely helps with graphite shafts.
Love the videos lads. So slick and professional.
Great info guys and hopefully next you can show us how to take out old shafts and put in new ones. I do my own grips but nice tip about putting a whole layer on top of the half layer 🤙🤙
How do you make sure the grip is straight when you don't have a grip station?
I wouldn’t call this 101 not discussing the inner core diameter of the grip. maybe 01
I wish I could've seen this video a month ago before I put a new SuperStroke grip on my putter. haha
i feel like there is no hope for me, i will be a club builder one day. need a garage
@1:10 make, Isn't "point six ten" just .7? What am I missing?
I really liked the information around the grip size and making sure that you build up the tape correctly. One thing that i think would have been good to include is how you align the grip to the face of the club.
Am I the only one that is giggling at “thick butt diameter”? 😆🤣😆
I think you mentioned on your last video that you shouldn't build up your grips with a lot of tape I am just wondering why that is? Is it wrong to attempt to make jumbomax grips with cp2 Pros?
Great video! Definitely and great tip on putter shafts. Especially someone who plays a 30" putter.
Using a piece of burlap with grip solvent is also a great way to remove the old residue and tape. I'd also recommend to those commenting that a quick wipe of rubbing alcohol will allow the tape to adhere to the shaft easily before install.
Do you use anything clean off the solvent residue beyond paper towel? I struggle sometimes with getting the first layer of tape to stick because of solvent residue.
Do you not peel off the backing of the double sided tape before applying solvent and sliding the grip on?
The Rhino Rip Grip Cutter from the Golfworks is my go-to for grip removal. Safe & effective
As a do-it-yourselfer I’ve learned to re-grip without a vise. A grip installer tool helps. The plus is that I can avoid the risk of over-tightening the vise and damaging the club shaft.
I’ll never compete with TXG but I do have fun doing it myself.
Where u at Ian? Still drowning your sorrows? 😂
Properly enjoying the videography!
Nice video. I've been doing my own grips for quite a while now, and as others have written here I'd definitely recommend getting a cheap flex mount vice, rubber club holder and hook blade to do it the standard way. Also for those that have an air compressor you can regrip very quickly once you get used to the technique.
After having several different solvents that refused to dry properly, I’ve switched over to compressed air for all my re-gripping . Out of curiosity what is your grip solvent of choice?
Never cut towards your thumb, always cut towards your chum!
Great job as always boys. One thing I always wondered about is alignment of the grip to the face. For newbies do you recommend a laser or something to assist?
Is this where txg is headed? Club making videos? Give us some cool new videos.
I switched to grip tape that works with just plain old water. Works great.
I regriped 6 clubs the other day put oversize on my wedges and midsize on everything else I have found the oversize grips keep my hands quite when pitching and chipping so good so far
Guys, you really should take off the old grip (if still usable offcourse ) whole. Not dameged. You might not like the new grip, they may disappoint, the marketing may be incorrect, or you just want to try out and test a new grip on 1 or 2 clubs to see how they feel. Take of the tester and pop up the old ones for free. But off course also for environmental reasons, lower costs, sell second hand or give away for youth players or people without cash to splash. And also out of respect for that grip that is still in good shape but does not feel right for you
I would love to see your review on the new Golf Pride CPX grips. What are the benefits of a super cushy versus a super firm grip. Thank you!
I did mine without a vice using lots of lube and I used a paint kettle to catch the lube so I could re use it 🧠😂 The hook grip cutter is a brilliant tool for the job.
One question is what difference does a 12grams heavier grip change to the clubs?
What grip solvent do you use?
QUESTION! What is best way to make sure face is square and not open and closed. This is especially difficult for me for Driver heads since the have a bit of rounding at face. Any lazer tools help? Or do you use any? Any tricks for Align grips?
Such great stuff fellas!
