Cobra forged tec need to be included in this Andy, excellent clubs
I have the 2020 Cobra Forged Tec irons, and like everything about them, so I'm a little disappointed that the 2022 Cobra Forged Tec irons weren't included in this comparison.
Hands down Gen 5 however, you can get Gen 4 at such a good price now, that alone mops the floor against all others. Fantastic review as always. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Got fit for the 225’s came down to the P790 and 225’s I launched the P790’s too high and without changing my swing the 225’s launched in the perfect window for my club head speed. Go get fit we’re all different
at £65 a club then 0211 all day long
I sampled the Mizuno Pro 225 at a Mizuno demo day and loved the looks, sound and feel. I scheduled a fitting but came down with a hip injury and had to cancel. Once I’m good to go again, I’m looking forward to reschedule for the MP225!
PXG 0211 irons would have to be at the top of this list if it were on it.
I just purchased the Tailor-made P790's. Love them.
2019 p790 in my bag, I love them. Not alot in the latest modal

Disappointed you don't have the new Cobra Forged Tec, the X version looks perfect for the Average Golfer…
I have been looking at these and for me it comes down to Mizuno 225 or the Rogue ST Pro. The PXG’s I didn’t even consider because a set from 5-PW is $900 dollars more than the Mizuno’s and $1100 more than the Rogue’s. The Mizuno softer feel and sound are at the top for now.
All about the fitting . . . . I wanted the P790s but Titleist blended set worked better for me
I'm in for a set of players distance irons this year, so thank you so much for this. I absolutely love the look of the 225s – but I'm lefty so can't have them as there's no left handed option! Sort it out, Mizuno…will be trying all but the pxg…and also Srixon zx5/7's too. 😉
Just looking back at the numbers you produced with the Rogue Pro in the test a couple of months ago, Why would they be so different. Spin rate 5593 now 3602?
Own the 790’s but have already ordered the 225’s. The 790’s perform great but I just cannot get on with the poor feel/sound.
Currently playing 20yr old Ping i3+ Blade, so a nice relevant video with some good food for thought.
Just got fitted and ended up in the P790's. love them after having my AP2's since 2007.

Thanks for breaking down these irons…For me I have been gaming the past four years, Wilson Staff FG V6 and the Hogan PTx Pro irons…Have been looking for a iron set to give me a little more help and forgiviness till my legs get stronger again, Had a injure a while back so I think that the Mizuno 225 Pro irons might be the ones to play and fill the gap of my other two sets…What do you think about the move????

I525 are in the bag.Have to say they are loud but I actually like that.For me there the best looking iron in that test and I’ve been impressed with the distance.

You guys need to look at Ben Hogan, they are less investment but better than most of the top iron sets. Give them a look see.
Mizuno and Gen 5 are my 2 favs but the Ping is close
I have the Ping I525 and I absolutely love them!
I’d choose the P790 because of the looks and the matt finish around the grooves of the face which is the only off putting factor in choosing the Callaway’s. I play TM Rocketballz and really like the smoked matt finish which has never given me bother with glare around the face. They really are a great looking club and I especially like the carbon fibre inserts on the back of the club plus the performance is great 😊
If I were looking at “player’s distance “ irons, my first choice would almost certainly be the Tour Edge Exotics C722 irons over all of these tested models.
Came down to i525 vs 225 for me and i525 won handily on performance. I think they sound good, no complaints here, big improvement over i500/425.
