There were no quality quarterbacks in the draft. The Lions won't make the playoffs regardless. It's not horrible if the Lions lose a few games because Goff is out. They will have a higher draft pick next year to get their quarterback.
Why would you waste a pick on a bad quarterback? I could do a more intelligent analysis.
Other then Braylon. This analysis was embarrassing. No one is going to waste a draft pic at qb. Next year is green light for drafting a qb.
The draft is a waste of hours to watch. There's going to be a complete list right after and months to look at the guys and evaluate. Bill Burr, one of the biggest sports fans there is, rags on the draft constantly.
Next year maybe a good QB class but who knows if the Lions draft or fall to a good QB!! Brad Holmes seems like he is going to ride and die with Goff !! This could be his demise !

I don't think they want the fans calling for the for the backup at the first sign of trouble with Goff. Under the current roster everyone is praying for his health. Like Cortez burning his ships there is no turning back.

You should give it up. You argued to draft Willis at #2 because you thought the guys in the draft are starting QBs. The actions of the whole league say you were wrong. Now you are moving the goalposts to say these guys in the draft are better than Boyle as backups and Holmes thinks you are wrong. I'll take his read on it.
Finally, comparing the Lions to other teams that already have solid rosters doesn't make sense. The Lions need to build a solid team first and then they can start reaching for QBs. At that point the Belichik comparison might make sense. Right now, every pick matters for other positions.
How about, instead of Brad taking Hutch as a favor to his staff, would if it was a a favor to the fans?

If Goff goes down we pick higher next year. This is not the playoffs or bust year. You get a franchise QB next year with your two first rounders. And if he is out all year then you don’t even have to spend both to trade up cause you’re probably picking in the top 2 again. Drafting a backup Qb is just nonsense when the rest of the roster is not playoff ready.

After all they have done and if they choose in a year or so to extend Jared Goff I will immediately become disinterested in this rebuild I don't care right now because I don't think that's the case I think they're just waiting until next year for their quarterback

Malik Willis was horrible in college he had 3 straight games with a less than 30 quarterback rating I don't know why the media duped you guys into this guy He had a c*** load of interceptions
Ryan Dean was injured with multiple injuries he has torn peck and a torn miniscus injury that takes a long time to heal. So if he wasnt injured he would of went alot sooner probably early 2nd maybe even late 1st so Malik wasnt injured hes just not good. He had 3 straight games with less then a 30 QBR. And a fuck ton of interceptions.

Not taking a QB is by design, if Goff goes down and we lose 12 games guess what, we get a better pick for a much more talented QB next year. We don’t need to win right now they are building for the long haul and doing it right…just saying 😉
