Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. The "homerun" cut away was a little ambitious Rick. That shot was 100% a foul ball, but definitely a "touch 'em all" shot the second time 🤣

  2. What is "embarrasing" is that you've spelt "embarrassing" incorrectly on your thumbnail!

  3. Rick I don't want kick you while you're down but in both episodes I feel your wedge tempo seems to be a bit quick and stabby. I also think you may be trying to hard, at the beginning of the rounds, to shot birdies galore. I know you are confidence player but give yourself a break mate. One question, if you are struggling from 40 or 50 yards why not play a few 7 or 8 iron chip and runs. On the plus side your putting distance control was very good.. Good luck in future episodes.😍

  4. Brilliant Rick (or should I say the king of Conwy) and Guy…. Your best ever video and made me proper chuckle……. Welcome to our world Rick, pleased to have you on board 😂

  5. Love the content and all your videos Rick but a lot of pressure on the next round to do the job or the next series should be break 80 😳😳😳good luck see you on the range 👍👍👍

  6. Shouldn't Guy be sitting behind a desk somewhere on a really high horse passing judgment on people who play better golf than him? This is now the 2nd episode I couldn't get through because of him.
Don't sell out your friends Rick, it's not a good look for you and does nothing to help your legacy in golf.
Really hope that him being/staying around doesn't have anything to do with you chasing a new sponsorship. There are some things that are far more important than money. Don't forget who started all of this with you and helped you get to where you are. Until Guy climbs down off of that high horse, my (and many other people's) opinion will stay the same about him.

  7. Just wondering why you were using wedges, would have thought bump and runs with an 7/8 iron might have suited the lies better around the greens.

  8. Hey Rick, slight typo on the title, it would be ‘made a 9’ not ‘made an 9’ as the word nine starts with a consonant, not a vowel. Quality video as always 👏

  9. Your bad is my golf every weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  10. I think I know why your not the best chipper. your arms are slightly quicker than your hip rotation. they HAVE to be the same. keep thah left elbow tucked into your hip and swing as one.

  11. Great video Rick (and Guy!). I don't know about you but I have found that when my head has gone like that, I benefit from one of my mates taking the mick rather than supportive comments. I think Guy should give that ago…from a distance though, just in case!
    Loving your work!

  12. Just starting out, got an old set of Lynx Parallax clubs, shooting 110-120 on 18. Only played 3 rounds in my life, to be fair. 9 on a par 3 isnt that unusual!

  13. Starting on some hard courses Rick maybe go to a couple of easier course get the confidence back up

  14. Oh God Bless you. I used to play competitive golf, havent really played in 20 years now and am generally unable to just go out and play because well, I suck. Your happy demeanor (at least after the fact), gives me inspiration that maybe one day I'll be able go out/play again and enjoy myself (vs. grinding for 5 hrs./realizing) it really is about having fun/remains a game. Bravo. I watch your vids more than I should. 🙂 Carry On soldier. You are a good egg

  15. I felt so bad for that double on 2, but then I remembered that just means maybe I’m closer to a PGA pro than I thought

  16. Really enjoying your channel Rick. My respect levels for you just went up 1000 fold, as a Pro you had a bad day on the course, yet you choose to still share it with us… That shows intergrity and class in my book. Keep them video`s coming; subcribed button has been smashed !!😁

  17. My dad, my brother and I have decided to try to actually become "golf people". We've all played very casually for a long time, but now that we're a bit older and school/college aren't in the way at all, we've decided to actually get out on the course more and play a lot more golf. Videos like this are really great for me to see, because whenever I've had a poor game in the past, it's tough for me to want to finish the round or get back to the course. But seeing that even the best of the best can shoot a 9 on a par 3 (although under very rare circumstances) does make me feel like it's alright to play bad golf. As long as I'm trying to get just a little bit better and enjoying the game, it doesn't matter what I shoot.

Thanks Rick, for showing us the bad rounds just as often as you show us the good rounds. Cheers!

  18. Have to admit, I laughed hard at the three wood into the bunker. I like the additional analysis for the bad rounds. Here's to it not being needed again.

  19. Me and the lads at work get so excited about this series, sit in the van on our ‘break’ and watch it on the laptop 😂

  20. It can happen to the best of people but sorry to say you lost the battle with yrself right away keep going ring what range finder do you use

  21. The Old Course at Addington Court use to hold the Surrey PGA competition. However, the course was deemed 'too short' with a Par of 68. Do you think that you could break 75 on that course? Or maybe try the other par 68 at Addington Court, the Falcon Wood?

  22. Hi Rick, I’ve suffered from the chipping yips for years, but tried Phil Mickleson’s hinge and hold, and hey presto, the yips don’t have an effect anymore, maybe worth a try Rick.

  23. Golf will do that to ya. Make a 9 on one hole and hit the best shot of the day the next. Just makes you happy enough to come back for more.

  24. Keep at it Rick! I had water troubles on a par 3 during a family tournament. Took a 16… but the next day on the same hole I jarred it for my first ever hole in one!

  25. I've been there, but then again I'm not a Golf Pro 😂😂
    Bad round happen to everyone

  26. That was tough to watch mate. You really got to get that confidence back with your chipping, I feel like that will have a snowball effect for the rest of your game.
