Hi And! I play the Callaway UW 19d. It sits right between a m-wood and a hybrid. Its a really god looking club to look down at and its really flyes😃.
I've been told by several fitters and club pros that the hybrid is to be hit like your irons and the fairway wood more like your driver, with the ball being slightly back in your setup than you do with your driver. This would make sense of the shafts being shorter in hybrids.
