TaylorMade have had a NIGHTMARE… I DON’T BELIEVE IT!? When we buy new golf clubs we often think about the best golf clubs of 2022, the best golf balls. TaylorMade have a HUGE PROBLEM… it’s TOO GOOD! When choosing your golf ball for the coming season often we think about what the best golf ball of 2022, the longest golf ball off the tee, even the most expensive golf ball because we need to play the best ball. But what about the slightly cheaper golf ball, not quite a budget ball but the TaylorMade Tour Response Line golf ball has really caught my eye. In this video I put it against the all singing all dancing TaylorMade TP5 pix for my choice of ball for 2021… and I do it now!

  1. I'm not a fan of coloured golf balls unless I'm playing winter (which is rare) but trying to spot those balls in the fairways looks tough

  2. What makes a ball a "ladies" ball? Is there a big difference between say a Callaway Reva and their Supersoft?

  3. Now I'm not of The Left, but the worst thing the golf world ever did was to gender-ize tee markers. How 'bout this?…try playing from the forward tees. IF you even get close to playing scratch golf from those markers … THEN move back to the next tee markers next time, so & so forth. Too many weekend warriors think they have the golf balls to play the tips, & wind up making everyone else behind them wait.

  4. Honestly, I think the manufacturers should just stop marketing to a sex and more attention needs to be paid to swing speed and compression. The tee situation should be rated according to driving distance vs ladies, men's, senior… It should be, if your avg driving distance is… Play from here.

  5. As a lady golfer I would try the TaylorMade golf ⛳️ ball. I have in the past used the Titleist yellow golf ball but I have returned to the traditional white Titleist velocity. About 10-12 years ago Percept created and marketed the Laddie ball for ladies and men loved it. Yes I want to see the comparison

  6. The fact these balls are basically designed for slow swing speed golfers . Matte and soft compression are not a good combination for spin and distance gains

  7. I used to play the Precept Lady's balls back in the day. Then they introduced the same ball as the "Laddie" for guys who couldn't see themselves playing a lady's ball. I'm currently playing the Titleist AVX and may switch to the Wilson Triad later this season or next.

  8. I remember back in the late 1990s and early 2000s (pre-Titleist Pro V1) the stir created by the Precept Lady ball (time period is approximate as I am long a seasoned citizen). This particular ball was such a hot ticket item that even a few golf professionals were using it because it was so long, high spinning, and inexpensive. I tried a sleeve and couldn't see any benefit but many players thought this ball was it (whatever "it" is in this context). A short time later Titleist debuted the Pro V1 and the Precept Lady ball shuttled off into the dust bin of golf history.

  9. Golf revolution ? What a surprise. Back, middle and forward tees, no mentions of gender or age. Balls to go on swing speed instead of gender. As for the colors, whatever you want, it is your decision. We even have a 12 holes course to help the people who don't have a 5 hours free time window.

  10. Yellow ball for me as I see it better in flight. I also think how it is marketed affects willingness to try/ use something like a golf ball.

  11. Marketing and reality are two very, very different things. Brands market their new clubs every year as being longer and better and we know that's just not the case. Golf equipment is purely based (or should be) on what best fits that particular player, not who or how it's marketed to a certain person or player. Unfortunately I think it's easiest for brands to fall into separating levels of equipment based off of skill level because typically that's how those players fall into the group but it most certainly isn't "men need men's clubs, shafts, balls" and "women need women's equipment." I will swing a club faster than the majority of new golfers, but sex has nothing to do with it. Just the same, there are women that need an x-stiff flex and that's far too stiff for my swing speed as I couldn't properly load/unload that shaft. As far as the golf market goes, if you like it and it performs well for you then USE IT! Who cares what the brand says. I think we all know they'll say all kinds of crazy stuff with big promises to boost interest/sales. As far as a golf balls go, pink is by far the easiest color for the human eye to see (seriously, look it up. Lol) but I think it's also based on performance and what fits that player. More than that though it's what the player is looking for in a golf ball. I play the Tour Response/T.R. Stripe or the TP5 Pix because of it's performance for MY game, not what their marketing team said. There are hundreds of great balls these days, but I prefer the urethane cover (spin) and the feel of those two golf balls. I also know they might be too expensive for some people, especially if they're losing 4 or 5 balls a round. Thankfully I only lose one ball in a round now, and more often than not I'm pulling a ball out of play because of wear after a round or two not because I lost it. When I lost a bunch every round I certainly wasn't using a premium golf ball, more so for the price than performance.

  12. All for the Tees to match ability rather than gender or age. Also, i like a white ball, just what I’m comfy with, although this winter past i played the Pro V in the current yellow they offer and it was grand.

  13. I think TM have been stupid marketing it that way. A golf ball is a golf ball, and if it performs really well then use it. If it was pink and polka dotted and I didn't particularly like the look of it, as long as it would be easily found and reasonably priced – game on! Don't see the point of dark coloured balls though

  14. White and yellow this time of year can be really difficult with all the little blooms. But I haven't done well with any other color, so I'll continue to use white and yellow only.

  15. I got some of the Seed balls you and Chris reviewed. They're great to play with, but I got the red ones and they're virtually invisible on the course.

  16. I've really been enjoying the Tour Response Stripe ball. I previously played the Callaway Supersoft in yellow. Even then it would sometimes get lost amongst the yellow flowers that sometimes grow on the uncut areas. The yellow and white combination seems to be the perfect set up for me finding the ball, aside from keeping it in the fairway that is. The darker colors are always hard to see. I have found that over the years, even with the old Ping 2 tone balls. Brighter is better in my book. White, Yellow and Green… All others not as good.

  17. I have tried some of the colors, I keep thinking "this will be easier to see and find" and they just aren't, so I end up going back to white.

  18. I like using colored balls but always end up losing one even when i know exactly where it is

  19. Idk if anyone else has had this problem but I have trouble putting with a matte ball, it feels like it’s slow and grabs the grass cause the texture

  20. As a man i'm not phased or put off trying and using stuff marketed for women in golf, but i wonder why OEMs do it, why limit yourself to 50% of the market? that said, i wouldn't use these as i dislike the colours, and they probably wouldn't suit my swing and spin numbers.
I'm a white ball player most of the year, but my local course has plenty of tress so i switch to a neon pink ball in the autumn as its too hard to spot white balls among the leaves.

  21. I find it BS to call it anything other than a ball for low swing speed/high swing speed/low HCP/high HCP – nothing other than that matter imo…

  22. White ball everyday! Play light green when frosty and that’s it! Those colours are bloody awful lol

  23. The thing that annoys me is that is just a budget version of the Wilson triad, but the Wilson triad isn’t marketed as a ladies ball, and also there are some woman that swing faster than some men and vide versa

  24. Where I play there’s Blues, white, yellow and red tees and there’s pars for everyone, we’ve even had a comp for the men that allowed you to play of any tees with the relevant handicap adjustment.

  25. I think we need to get away from ladies/mens tees etc. play the tee which is best for your skill and enjoyment level. As for the balls, I hate the colours. Really hard to see on the video. I mainly play a yellow ball, especially at this time of year when white balls get lost in the daisies. Good video lads n

  26. Calling the shortest tees the ladies or women’s tees does a disservice to us all. We are working to just call them the forward tees so that anyone, beginners, juniors, seniors, someone coming back from an injury, ANYONE, may use them and if they can enjoy their day more, then good. And if we can get more people to play shorter or more forward tees then maybe we can get the pace of play to go a little faster. I hate seeing average or below average golfers playing tees that are too long for them as I know it is going to slow down the whole course. Yuck. A high end course near to me has eight sets of tee markers just labeled #1 thru #8 and the distance of the course is 7300 yards from the #1 tees and 3160 yards from the #8 tees. We need to get more players and groups to play shorter tees so we can all get around the course in a shorter amount of time. Also, if the players play more forward tees, that also means they are playing few full swing shots and taking fewer divots and beating up the course less with all their poor swings and shots. Can we also institute a ten shot maximum per hole for recreational golf, PLEASE?! Can we put it on the scorecard so that beginners don’t keep flailing away for 10 shots or more please?

  27. Yes I would love to see you comparison with this ball and a few others like the Kirkland the Srixon divide ( WHITE &YELLOW ) the TP5 and the Pro V1. There are still a lot of us out here buying different balls every week trying to figure it out, so, some updated pro advice would be appreciated ! Thanks

  28. Marketing & pride, its all i’m going to say about ability & ego, when golf should be about having fun, & playing for enjoyment of a hard game

  29. I am a Taylor Made golf ball fan but never considered this ball because of the marketing. I will give it a go now. Thanks chaps 👍

  30. Those purples and greens with mud on them are very hard to find ,a lot of players that play these can't knock it out of their shadow so play what u like , in our foursome white or yellow or your on your own looking, that being said play want you like , what's the worst thing that can happen ?? you get teased a little lol big deal , but that purple one did look horrible on the green thou…..
