In the final round of the 2022 RBC Heritage, Jordan Spieth gets an unlucky break on his tee shot at the par-4 9th hole when his ball settles in an awkward position in a green side bunker. After discussing with his caddie, Michael Greller, Spieth hits his ball by the grandstands to put myself in better position and would then go on to make bogey.

Team Europe Ryder Cup captain Henrik Stenson will tee it up at RBC Heritage for the first time in a decade, while his U.S. counterpart Zach Johnson will be playing for the 17th time. 2020 winner and 72-hole course record holder Webb Simpson will be hoping to continue his good form at the event, achieving three top ten finishes in the past five years. Patrick Cantlay will be looking to improve upon his 2019 T3 finish to obtain his first TOUR victory since the 2021 TOUR Championship in which he finished one shot ahead of Jon Rahm.

  1. I watched hit his tee shot there. Thinking birdie at worst. Then I saw bogey? I'm glad they posted this video

  2. I'm baffled as to why he didn't try to hit towards the green from that bunker position. Worst case is it ends up back in the bunker where he should be able to hit a normal sand shot (which he's pretty good at). What am I missing?

  3. Jordan's ball striking is perhaps the best it's been since the period around Chamber's Bay. Drove the ball around the tight Harbour Town course extremely well. Now, when his putter returns to force………

  4. unlucky break in the bunker, but the ruling (aka free drop that doesn't apply at the local course) had nothing to do with the bogey, but actually gave him the chance to make par.
wish these guys would just get on with it. He worked out what was needed in 30 seconds, then took another 2 minutes over thinking it.

  5. Why is he allowed to take 2 club lengths from his nearest point of relief when he drops from the immovable obstruction? Shouldn't it have only been 1 club length?

  6. From my angle .. Looked like he could have just took a wedge (or sand wedge) and hit a chop (semi-normal) sand shot (w/ no follow through) right at the pin.. I think that might have worked out better than what he did.. Of course, I am saying this at home watching on my TV..

  7. Poor decision from a pro n it is a simple n easy shot tbh if that was Phil.Im sure Phil is laughing with his head shaking😂🤦‍♀️

  8. He ended up about as good as he could've expected in three. But that second shot could've shanked or flew or gone anywhere. Wouldn't it have been less risky to take the unplayable into the middle of the bunker and try to get up and down from there? Especially with the new drop-from-knee-height rule, there would have been pretty much no chance of it plugging.

  9. I'm confused. Could jordan not have just aimed at the pin and took a whack at it? Worst thing that could happen it would fall back into the bunker and still have a chance at par. At least he gave it a chance to hit the green in regulation. The play to the right side was honestly a bit too safe for jordan. Idk, i dont have the full situation but from what i've seen going for it was possible.

  10. id have thought it was his bad read and even worse putt for par that lead to bogey. ruling? what ruling?

  11. Someone make a supercut of Jordans bad breaks and bad putts this week and lable it „how to win on the PGA Tour“

  12. Someone make a supercut of Jordans bad breaks and bad putts this week and lable it „golf is hard; win edition“ or „how to win on the PGA Tour“

  13. I used to root for Speith, but his constant whining, taking forever to make up his mind, tugging on his security towel, & slow way is too much for me.

  14. Taking the unplayable was the smarter decision. While it's possible a drop may have plugged a little, with the quality of a sand player Jordan is, his chance of par likely would have been better.

  15. Bro this mans literally had the most gorgeous drive I’ve seen, literally cap that break was garbage

  16. So happy you won RBC Heritage You and Tiger Woods are my favorite players so neat watching you win, congratulations.

  17. Seen video's of Seve and John Jacobs playing out of a worst lie than this bunker with the ball actually in the face. Sure they'll be on YouTube, total education on bunker play.
