I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

  1. Love the tips! My ball striking has definitely been getting better. Do you think you could do a vid following you through a golf round with you talking about your thought process for each shot?

  2. That's more like it. Great shots and entertaining as well. Nearly knocked your cap off with the power.

  3. Tom this was a great lesson! I keep them coming.
I know course vlogs are time consuming, but it would be enjoyed!!!

  4. Good stuff Tom! Been working on your lesson with my irons since late last season and have gained a lot of consistency and confidence. Have been drilling the mechanics all winter as best as possible, and can't wait until April 28 when my course opens to get back at it and hopefully your tips help as much with the driver as it has for the shorter clubs. Cheers.

  5. Hey Handsome, another great video! If I were back in the states, I'd be there in a flash signing up for lessons. You explain things so well. Incredible. Hitting through as a concept, I understand. How to achieve it, is the hard part. You make it look easy. Side note — I saw a film clip of Sean Connery and his golf swing in the "Goldfinger" and thought of you. What I noticed the most was the incredible "softness" and "unity" of his entire swing. And yet thre was this: Almost in slow motion on the back swing, then accelerating and "through" on the forward swing. All very clean and unified. Anyway, great video, Tom. God bless!

  6. Tom, what happens if you err on the thin side with the arms through the shot? How do you control depth control? Many thanks in advance!!

  7. i just realized something that may be huge for me. I see on your back swing you move your shoulders and then arms and only when the club is horizontal to the ground do you move your body to hinge the club towards your head. Then your right shoulder drops towards the ground and both your arms straighten. Please comment back if i am wrong but i think i have been moving my body with my shoulders and arms at the same time. It makes me think that is why my shots always fat or i lose so much power and distance. Am i correct? should i only move my body one the club is horizontal to the ground in the back swing?

  8. Hi Tom love the video and just got the online golf school and it's amazing wish I would have found this sooner but better late than never thank you for the hard work you have put into it finally getting my confidence back in my game shot 95 the other day and only 17% through the first course you my friend are a genius 👍🏻

  9. Quick question, do you think about extending your right arm as you are about to hit the ball to get extension? BTW another great video.

  10. Excellent advice. This thought process is improving my fairway striking immensely. Still a few too many thin irons but even those are ok. No more trying to "Hit Down" for me.

  11. That rolling the ball, arms extend, thru segment is a "good un" for feel. I too suffer from T-rexitis. Gotta get one of those backwards hats, but afraid I won't know if coming or going

  12. Thanks for another great video. I'm really stuck on the release right now. How do we "crack the whip" or release with a bowed left wrist? Don't we have to un-hinge the left wrist into a cupped position at some point? And should we ALSO roll the arms a little? I was hitting my irons far, but hooking them when I had a roll release with bowed left wrist. I don't know what I'm supposed to do to unhinge the bowed left wrist without "flipping".
