CORONAVIRUS
Coronavirus restrictions have posed a challenge to animal parks like Bioparque Estrella in Mexico that depend on visitors’ entrance fees to pay for the animals’ food.
The park’s managers are developing strategies to keep their 1,500 animals fed, such as advanced online ticket orders at a quarter of the normal price.
The strategy has eclipsed the goal of 1,000 ticket sales, but it is far from the normal revenue produced by ticket sales on an average day prior to the pandemic.
Mexico has 7,497 confirmed coronavirus cases and 650 deaths as of Monday, April 20. (AP)
