PGA playing professional Mark Hensby has won on the PGA Tour, the European Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour, was a member of the Rest of the World Presidents Cup Team and represented Australia in the WGC World Cup partnering Peter Lonard. Mark tied 5th in The Masters at Augusta, won by Tiger Woods, tied 3rd in the US Open at Pinehurst, 5 shots off winner Michael Campbell and tied 15th in the Open Championship at St Andrews, also won by Tiger Woods.
Here, Mark generously sent us a video where he talks about how he uses his PlaneSWING and PowerSLIDER (not a roller), a 1.5kg solid aluminium rod with a hardened rubber sleeve, in his training and places an emphasis on exaggeration of particular movements in practice to help him take required changes to the course.
You’ll see that like most amateurs, Tour pros are also often fighting against taking the club on the inside with the left shoulder rising as a consequence.
Cause and effect is what we at PlaneSWING Golf always aim to establish and communicate to golfers in order that they can gain understanding of how symptoms occur and how to address the cause.
PlaneSWING is designed to highlight the simplicity of the golf swing movement. The importance of the swing plane and the key determinants of achieving it, grip, posture and alignment ,must never be underestimated.
Note the stability in Mark’s lower body, the excellent sequencing of body and arms and maintaining dynamic posture at impact.
