Arguably the most difficult shot in golf for most golfers is the 50-80 yard bunker shot to a green. You’re too far away to blast the shot with a sand wedge. You feel uncomfortable using more than a sand wedge to blast the shot from the sand. And, you feel even more uncomfortable trying to “pick” the ball from the bunker and have it land anywhere near the hole, none the less on the green.

If you take your time and evaluate the situation, you may find that this shot is as simple as hitting a “big” chip shot. So long as there is not a big bunker lip in front of you, setting up and hitting a larger than normal bunker shot might be the best way for you to hit a shot that provides you an assurance that you’ll be on the green.

Within this video, John Hughes, PGA Master Professional, shows you how to hit the “big chip shot” from a fairway bunker. Utilizing the unique design of Falcon’s Fire Golf Club’s #2 hole, you’ll learn the set up basics that provide you the best opportunity to execute this shot cleanly.
