The Golf Development Group (GDG) is the newest section of golfers at our club, and is a pathway into the HGC community for the golfers that have completed the 6 sessions of New2Golf Coaching sponsored by WalesGolf, and are looking to take their next steps into golfing life.
Last weekend 21 players teamed up with 7 mentors to play in a fun Texas Scramble Competition. Mentors only carried one club and a putter but were also on hand for tactical advice. Huw Jones and Pat Roblin ran the competition won by Tina Inward, Lorraine Dawson and mentor Nicky Reeves, all three winning a trophy donated by John Fry, and a lesson with PGA Professional Elliot Harding.
The competition was followed up with a post match putting competition, which was won by Dai Charles.
