The PGA Championship is back at Kiawah this week for the first time since Rory McIlroy won the Ocean Course’s first PGA in 2012. Before Erik Anders Lang attempts to Break 90, he’s here to take you “under the dunes” at one of the longest and most difficult tracks in the game of golf — and a course that’s sure to provide some must-watch drama with the best golfers in the world this weekend.
In this video, we take you behind the scenes and into the story of the Ocean Course at Kiawah. Pete Dye and his wife Dye designed the course for the major championship stage, and since its opening it’s been one of the toughest for the pros to go low on. Even though it’s always measured almost 8,000 yards, the course is constantly evolving thanks to swirling winds and shifting dunes. And that’s why Pete Dye was fond of saying, “This golf course walks.” This week, the PGA’s best golfers will try their hand at shaping the history of these dunes, and we can’t wait to watch it unfold with you.
Take a dive under the dunes, and stay tuned to see if Erik can break 90 from the tips at the Ocean Course! Thank you to our friends at Chase Sapphire for making this all possible!
