It’s January and as promised in my 2020 goals I’m performing the first baseline test of my short game in a head to head scramble test against Dale. Will my new Taylormade Milled Grind 2 wedges spin their way to victory or will Dale’s MG2’s take the win?

The Short Game Scramble test made famous by Peter Finch is a great practice technique to hone your skills around the green and within pitching range. You play as normal until you hit your approach to the green. If you hit it in regulation, you throw the ball off the green and attempt to get the ball up and down. If you don’t hit your GIR you try to get up and down from wherever you are up to 50 metres away. If you hit your approach within 5 feet, you can putt it from where it is.

Try it next time you have a practice round, it’s harder than it looks!
