Rye Golf club, situated on England’s south coast boasts some of the finest and robust golfing terrain known to man. Founded in 1894, with a certain HS Colt elected as the founding captain – it is also the sight of his first course layout.

Rye is a very unique club, celebrating two ball play and foursomes golf year round and despite being a private golf club, it shares its course with a great number of wider clubs and societies, most notably the Oxford & Cambridge Golf Society who hold their annual tournament – The Presidents Putter – at Rye every January.

Whilst Rye could not be considered long, it’s Par 68, menacing yet beautifully rumpled fairways, and extremely challenging Par 3 holes make it an exceptionally difficult course for the medal golfer.

We hope you enjoy the film, which is part of our new series – ‘England’s Golden Age Wonders’ looking to showcase some of England’s finest courses.
