Shot of the Year!
In this episode of Golf Sim Wars, Oliver and ! take on Manny and Greg. Oliver and I had built up a slight lead, but a little luck, and a great shot evened things up pretty quick. This video contains the best shot I have ever seen in a simulator. There are some traditionalists that dismiss the benefits of using a simulator. They argue that it isn’t anything like real golf. I tend to agree to a certain extent, although I would argue that you can improve your shots off the Tee with simulator practice. The incredible shot made in this video was of course made off perfectly even ground, with the forgiveness of hitting off a mat, indoors out of the elements. Does that make it any less special? Judging by the celebration I wouldn’t say it does. This is just one of the reasons why I play the occasional round of simulator golf. I’m not playing it to improve my golf game. It in no way or form effects my handicap. It sure is fun though, and who doesn’t like fun.
To get the most out of your simulator experience make sure you find a quality location to play. I highly recommend Golf Wing in Markham, Ontario. I’ve played at many Simulator locations. Some of which no longer exist for good reason. Golf Wing is by far the best I’ve played at. They have excellent facilities, the simulators are bang on for distance and spin, the private rooms are spacious, and their prices for simulator time are more than fair. In case you were wondering this is entirely my opinion, and they haven’t provided me with any incentive to endorse them.
