This lesson comes from the longer “New Tennis Paradigm, Part 6 Lesson of the Federer Forehand paradigm. It describes how the linear swing paradigm in the tennis domain is a faulty paradigm, and how the other major hitting sports (golf and baseball) have adopted the rotational swing paradigm. Rotation of the body to prepare and follow-through the swing, and rotation in the swing path of the racquet, are the essence of the tennis swing. The linear swing model is considered to be among the chief flaws of swinging in golf and baseball, and should be considered the same in tennis. Many slow-motion videos and photos are shown to provide back-up evidence of this new paradigm view.
