I spent some time on the range with good friend and PBA Bowling Champion Josh Blanchard. We’ve also spent many hours on the lanes together. The funny part about this lesson is that we discovered we were both using our shoulders incorrectly in the other pro’s arena. Not only is the Chair Drill good for golfers who need to get a better feel for how their arms and shoulders should move (or not move) in the golf swing. When the (bowling) shoe is on the other foot, it’s also a great drill for bowlers to learn how to drop their arm into the correct slot to release the ball. This was a big a-ha moment for me as a teacher and a student on the range.
