Coming “Over the Top” is a very common issue in amateur golf.
First, you must understand that in order to hit a huge slice, the club is cutting across the golf ball with either a square face or open face, depending on where the ball finishes.
Use the lanyards this way, forcing the club to come slightly from the inside (Hint: you may need to exaggerate this feeling more than you think) with the club face square to your intended target line.
Start with slow motion swings, hitting 100 yard drives that are turning over with a slight draw, and when you get that consistently happening, speed up the entire sequence slightly until you are making 70-80% swings.
