Once we get closer to the green and into a pitching position — that is, a shot that carries most of the way to the destination through the air — we need to be sure to keep our arc consistent. Changing our arc drastically introduces a plethora of problems with contact from hitting behind the ball to blading it by getting too narrow.
Keeping the handle high, we want a middle-of-the-stance ball position, minimal shaft lean and level shoulders. From here, we want to expend a minimal amount of energy independently, allowing our pivot and torso to lead the club into the ball while maintaining our arc even past impact to ensure consistency.
