The 17th island green at Sawgrass is one of the most iconic and exciting holes in professional golf for both players and spectators alike. It typically plays 130-140 yards from the back tees depending on the hole location. Here the pin is located in the back right, reminiscent of the final round Sunday hole location at the Players Championship. Play it too conservatively and leave yourself a long, multiple breaking putt across the green. Play too aggressively or misjudge the wind, and find yourself hitting three from the drop area or re-teeing.
Behind the 17th tee box there is also a grandstand and VIP lounge where if you have access to it, you can get a great view of the 16th green and the players as they make the long walk to the 17th tee. But anywhere along the 17th hole is a real treat to experience for any true golf fan.
