What is Saccadic Eye Movement and why is it important to improved putting?
According to Wikipedia, the definition of a Saccade is as follows:
A saccade (/səˈkɑːd/ sə-KAHD, French for jerk) is a quick, simultaneous movement of both eyes between two or more phases of fixation in the same direction. In contrast, in smooth pursuit movements, the eyes move smoothly instead of in jumps.
This is important as it relates to your putting because the more targets your eyes fixate on the more patterns for movement become formulated in your brain. Too many targets and the brain/body relationship can become short circuited with the end result being more missed putts.
It’s important to fixate your eyes on one spot when putting. This allows you to have a target in mind (literally and figuratively) and greatly improved your ability to putt better and more consistently.
