Hello golfers!
Here are a couple of things I do for my biceps and shoulders. These are very standard lifts.
First off, it is ok to lift somewhat heavy and still play golf. The older that you get, it is crucial that we are stressing our bodies for many reasons but it should be enough to know that you can keep your bones from breaking down by the use of heavy, taxing on the muscles and our skeletal structure, weights. This can be accomplished with bands as well.
When we are lifting heavier weights we need to make sure stretching is a regular habit of ours. We should be stretching anyways for longevity and length with all of golf clubs.
So, how do you know if you lack strength and power? When you get down to the lower clubs in your bag and you hit your 5 iron the same distance, essentially, as your 4 iron and 6 iron. We should be able to get 10-15 yards more or less out of each club.
So, there is something to be said for power! Get some! Focus on the big moves that work out more than one body part at once. When I was at my peak strength, I was doing push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and squats. All these moves can have plyometric instances added into them for even more explosiveness.
Finally, reach out to me through EjsGolf.com if this doesn’t strike a cord with you. I can go much deeper into working out this winter if requested.
Remember to head over to my YouTube page at, EJS_Golf, to have a shot at winning a dozen premium golf balls. Look for the title of one of the videos to be about winning golf balls.
Thank you golfers,
