For 2013, Honma brought out a range of new forged clubs called the Tour World Series. We’re going to have a look at the 717P.
2 piece structure and cavity back design spreads the clubs weight efficiently to increase the moment of inertia by 20% from the TW717V. What this means is that this club resists the twisting motions exerted on the club in off centre hits, producing more stability, and thus more accuracy. The trade off is a little less ability to shape the ball than the smaller heads in the TW717 range, but if straight does the job for you, then this is the club.
The club’s low centre of gravity and forgiving face promotes a higher flying shot and more forgiveness on off centre hits.
From the long irons to the wedge, the design discretely camouflages the punch it packs and aesthetically this is a beautiful looking club. Its chrome-plated half mirror finish has an elegant look and the completed set looks and feels every penny of the premium price tag it commands.
The combination of mild steel and maraging stainless steel that the club is forged from offers a very satisfying sensation at impact and offers great feedback for chips, pitches and half shots.
The 717P is aimed at golfers who want the look of a proper golf club but help with consistency and distance. As a specialist Honma fitting centre since 2005, at Premium Golf we are able to offer a wide variety of shafts to find the best combination to suit your swing. It is available in 2 to 5 star options.
