Many golfers believe the easiest way to gain distance off the tee is to put a 48 inch driver golf shaft in the bag. After all, Bryson DeChambeau is using a 48″ driver at the 2020 Masters Tournament in an effort to maximize distance.
In this video, 2nd Swing master fitter Thomas Campbell tests two drivers against one another — one with a 48″ golf shaft, and the other with a 45″ golf shaft. Then, Campbell interprets the data and identifies just how much distance, if any, can be gained off the tee by simply increasing the length of the golf shaft. Did Campbell increase his distance with a 48 inch driver? Or did his numbers stay the same with a longer golf shaft?
