Being able to strike higher lofted fairway woods cleanly from the turf gives you a real advantage when out on he course. Being able to hit the green from a longer range will set up for a lower score by giving you more opportunity to hole putts for a lower score. But not striking your fairway woods well can leave you under a lot of pressure if you miss hit the golf ball so far out from the green.
