The stinger tee shot made famous by Tiger Woods is made for par-4s that are relatively tight, holes that play into a stiff breeze or a hole with a firm fairway that will allow the ball to travel along the ground.

With a long iron, we want the ball position slightly back in our stance — a couple of ball widths — you’ll want to ensure your wrist angle in your lead hand stays cocked as long as possible and saw your finish off.
