A ball placed to the front of the stance is more likely to produce a hook or draw(curve to the left) due to a closed club face through impact.
While a ball placed towards the back of your stance is more likely to produce a slice or fade(curve to the right) due to an open club face through impact.
A ball positioned in the middle will have a neutral or straight effect on ball flight because the club face is “squared up”.
