Don’t even bother training if it’s not going to make a difference. Too many athletes waste precious training time. It’s easy to tell if you’re not fully checked in. There’s a term I use called training amnesia. We’ve all been there. That’s when you’re clocking in the hours, but your mind is elsewhere. This happens during repetitive routines, where you’ve formed a habit, the training is boring or other parts of life creep into your practice time. Then when practice is over, you don’t clearly remember what you did. Sure you followed the workout, but you don’t receive maximum benefits when your mind is checked out.
