ABILENE – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs men’s golf team opens the fall season at the Charles Coody West Texas Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Diamondback Golf Course.
The tournament will be a 36-hole tournament that will feature 18 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The course is a par 71 and is 6,977 yards long.
The Competition
Along with UTPA and Abilene Christian, other schools competing include Midland College, Odessa College, Texas Wesleyan, West Texas A&M, Arkansas Fort Smith and Incarnate Word.
New Tests
This is the first time the Broncs compete at the Charles Coody West Texas Invitational.
Local Flavor
The Broncs have two student-athletes from the Rio Grande Valley in junior and McAllen High School alum Ricky Solis and junior and Sharyland High School alum Peter Fox.

The Broncs head to Normal, Illinois for the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, hosted by Illinois State University, on September 15.
