The lower back is one of the most common golf based injuries that I came across in the clinic. Typically it is the right side for right handed golfers and left side for left handed golfers.

The lumbar spine is not anatomically designed to provide a lot of rotation, the thoracic spine and pelvis/hip complex were created to rotate.

There are a few swing characteristics that may predispose you to lower back injuries. These include:
