Join Margit Bannon, USPTA certified tennis pro and Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance for this short class designed specifically for tennis players. Find relief for discomfort associated with the toes, including turf toe in this practice that includes yoga postures and movements inspired by the world of physical therapy, including tennis ball rolling for the feet. This is not mean to be a substitute for any advice given to you by your doctor or physical therapist but as a supplemental exploration of the toes to offer relief in the movements that work for you. It would also be a good idea to watch the practice one time through first, to make sure the practice is appropriate depending on what you’re working with physically. You might find this helpful if you have tired tennis feet due to many hours on court spent in tennis shoes, if you have sprained ligaments in your big toe associated with “turf toe” or have tennis toe due to starting and stopping quickly on court, leading to jamming your toes in your shoes. Why not provide relief for your tennis feet that are so important with footwork on the tennis court? In theory, if your feet are happy = happy feet move quicker and with greater efficiency on court! It doesn’t matter how great your strokes are if you can’t get to the ball! A brief relaxation is also offered at the end to increase circulation in your tennis toes, feet and legs along with the opportunity to breathe and feel yourself in the present moment as reminders of what you can do on court.
