Feet crossing over when running, also known as cross-over running gait. If your feet cross the midline as you run, be sure not to ignore this common running technique mistake. This type of cross-over gait is typical of runners who don’t control hip adduction and internal rotation properly. By strengthening your glutes and core, you will learn how to prevent a cross-over gait and run with proper running technique. Cross-over running gait can be linked to injuries such as iliotibial band syndrome, shin splints and plantar fasciitis.
