Retesting The 2026 Callaway Chrome Soft and Chrome Tour | The Best AAA Balls Got Better

The 2026 Callaway lineup is back on the launch monitor for a full retest! In this updated review, we take another deep dive into the all-new Chrome Soft and Chrome Tour golf balls to see how they perform across every major category — from driver distance and iron consistency to greenside spin and feel around the greens. After our updated testing format with the 2026 TaylorMade TP5 series, it was only right to give the Callaway models the same treatment.

This video features real launch monitor data, on-course style analysis, and side-by-side comparisons to help you decide which Callaway golf ball fits your game best. We test both models through multiple swing speeds and shot types, including driver, 4 hybrid, 9 iron, 60 yard pitch shots, greenside chips, and putting feel. Whether you want maximum distance, soft feel, lower spin off the driver, or more stopping power into the greens, this updated review covers it all.

The 2026 Callaway Chrome Soft continues to target golfers looking for an ultra-soft feel with balanced performance throughout the bag, while the Chrome Tour is designed for players wanting higher speed, stronger ball flight, and tour-level control. With Callaway’s newest aerodynamic updates, cover refinements, and consistency improvements, these golf balls have become some of the most talked about releases of 2026.

  1. Are you going to retest some budget balls as well? I’d love to see the new tests for a veteran ball of the channel, my current gamer, the Wilson Boost

  2. GolfBallAddict Hope you’re having a great day
Love your reviews, keep ‘em coming!
1 thing that might be a little concerning and maybe you want to test is a new/different 7iron
There is noooooooo way your 7iron should be launching at 10 degrees. In a perfect world your 7iron for your swing speed should be launching somewhere between 20-24 degrees.
Just something if I were you take a different more forgiving 7iron and test it against the one you are currently using with the same ball you are testing so you can see what I am talking about

  3. I want to be a bit more specific
You have launched angle which should be between 16-18 degrees
And your DYNAMIC Loft which should be around 20-24 degrees
I don’t know what metric you use but in my opinion your 7 iron is launching way way to low.

  4. Been trying Callaway Chrome Soft/ERC Soft v Maxfli v Srixon Ultispeed. My experience as a slow swing speed: Callaway flies higher and good control, Maxfli best feel & value and similar, Srixon is the longest but less green spin and control. Going to try PXG Extreme to compare. Right now I’m on the ERC for price if Softs aren’t on sale.

  5. I like the Chrome Soft with driver and the irons. It’s no-stress, easy distance at my 95mph driver and 80mph 7-iron swing speed. I’ve been a bit disappointed around the greens. Just not a lot of check. It’s easy enough to adjust to, but it’s weird because a mid-range chip with, say, a 58 will come off the club looking like a tour ball height-wise – nice and low and controlled, but then it just doesn’t want to check. So a weird disconnect there. It’s like a low-launching Supersoft. Also kind of Supersoft-y is that I have flown several greens from 70 yards or so because the ball simply exploded off the face. Really jumpy with the wedges. It’s possible a couple of those were user error, though: high face knuckleballs. But no issues like that with the Tour, which seems to fit my game better.

  6. Ultispeed and speedsoft ink are the best balls on the market. Average golfers can’t hit these chrome tours all those type balls. Just don’t have enough speed no need to even looking at them or thinking about them

  7. I think tour balls just need compressed to get the higher spin on full wedge/short irons. And as far as wedges go, they are definitely made for better ball striking to where the outer layer grips the face of the club and causes rotation. (Think ti spinner attack angle but as a normal chip & open face). I think that's why softer balls spin more on chips with a square faced average chipping motion.

  8. I love the chrome soft and chrome tour my problem is the price and playing conservative with them not wanting to lose them with my slower than average swing speed.
Btw looks like my first comment asking about Bridgestone Treosoft golf ball which I never heard of which Amazon is selling for $17.99

  9. Nice!! I am digging on the zstar, but if the chrome tour handles the wind anything like the 2025 z star… that chrome tour might be my
    new gamer

  10. awesome review!

I agree on my on course experience with the Chromesoft. It's low spin, and as a low spin player my best strikes go high and land soft. But if I catch it even a little skinny that ball is not going to stop on a green if it hits middle or back. The benefits are, this ball flies straight, and straight as hell off of driver as well.

  11. Love the results but the price is steep especially with what’s going on in the economy. Very impressed, but I’ll stick to my legato balls. Golf 1-2 times a month (if I’m lucky.) if I was more frequent I’d may consider

  12. Made the switch to the chrome tour this year and am loving it. Was gaming z stars and z star diamonds and they were just a little too spinny for me. Chrome tour is great in wind and gets a more manageable amount of spin greenside for me. Performance off the tee with it has been crazy good for me. Feels like a cheat code sometime

  13. Chrome Tour and Chrome Soft are above my pay grade, as a result, I hold them in reserve, when I find them as OPB (other people's balls), so I utilize them when I need their characteristics on a given hole. I way like them, as an older retired golfer in order to play the spendy balls I have to be resourceful (scrounge in the Desert) as always Old Fat Man Golfing. 18 holes today strictly OPBs, I shot an 86, the caveat, try playing a round with your old clubs, instant humility !!!

  14. Great stuff Nick! Personally I havent noticed an issue with the ChromeSoft as far as too low a spin for my game. I tend to hit ball pretty high so having a lower launch suits me well. Gotta get me some more!!

  15. Chrome Tour 1777 spin is horrible for a driver. The ball will fall sooner with less spin. You need to check what’s the right spin for a driver is which is sounded 2100-2500 tons
