BUNKER SHOTS AND LONG BUNKER SHOTS, HOW TO HANDLE STEEP FACES AND LONG GREENSIDE BUNKER SHOTS
Head Professional Fraser Malcolm takes you on a journey along the beach at North Berwick East Links (Glen Golf Club) to show you how to play steep face bunker shots and longer greenside bunker shots. Using the beach and rocks below the East Link’s 14th hole Fraser describes the set up and swing thoughts you need to employ to extricate yourself from the deepest of bunkers. Then we take a stroll further down the beach to the side of the famous 13th hole at the East Links, likened to the 7th at Pebble Beach, to show you how to deal with the tricky longer bunker shot.
*All balls were recovered, apart from one, and any balls hit into the sea regularly wash up on the beach whereupon dog walkers and others collect them.
I’m interested to find out how many people have hit golf balls into the sea at any point in their golfing career, either intentionally or unintentionally. Let me know which courses or locations, I want to get an idea of how commonplace it is and if there are some courses out there where the sea gets more than it’s fair share.
