BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Xavier wrapped up action at the Mountaineer Invitational on Tuesday evening. The two-day tournament was hosted by West Virginia at Pete Dye Golf Club.
The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 882 (+18), finishing eighth in a field of 19 teams. Clemson won the tournament with a score of 844 (-20), while Texas Tech and West Virginia placed tied for second with a scores of 848 (-16).
Cayse Morgan paced the Musketeers with a 26th-place finish (219, +3).
Oklahoma State’s Preston Stout took home medalist honors with a score of 205 (-11) in a field of 104 golfers. Clemson’s Thomas Higgins placed second (206, -10).
Xavier returns to action on April 20 at the Muirfield Shootout in Dublin, Ohio. The tournament is being played at The Country Club at Muirfield Village.
