Our tipster thinks Tyrrell Hatton will be the best of his pairing.
The third day of the US Masters kicks off today, with Rory McIlroy now heavy favourite to retain the trophy. But there’s still plenty of golfing action to take place over the next two days at Augusta.
Paddy Power News’ top golf tipster Martin Mathews has put together four-fold two-ball Acca for Saturday’s pairings at Augusta.
Saturday’s US Masters Two-Ball Acca
Ben Griffin v Max Homa – Max Homa
Cameron Young v Jason Day – Cameron Young
Tyrrell Hatton v Wyndham Clark – Tyrrell Hatton
Patrick Reed v Justin Rose – Patrick Reed

There were many, myself included who took a view coming in to the week that the rigours involved with being defending Champion, coupled with his far from ideal preparation, would lead to Rory McIlroy not being a serious factor at Augusta this week.
Far from it though, with the burden of winning the Masters lifted from his shoulders McIlroy has seemingly floated down Magnolia Lane and having looked imperious through 36 holes enters the weekend with a six-shot lead and with one arm firmly in a second Green Jacket.
So, with a mouth-watering weekend in prospect let’s see if we can pick out some value in today’s two ball pairings.
Ben Griffin v Max Homa – Max Homa
The first pairing to catch my eye is that of Ben Griffin and Max Homa who tee off at 18.22 UK Time and it is the more experienced Homa I will side with.
Homa has been in the doldrums for 18 months however he plays tough courses well and his record at Augusta is strong with finishes of third and 12th the last two years. His 12th place last year came on the back of five consecutive missed cuts and having arrived here this week on the back of two missed cuts he seems to be on the way to producing something similar.
Griffin who was one of the stars of 2025 on the PGA Tour has had a much quieter year to date with nothing better than 24th on his resume.
This week though Griffin has flourished on his Augusta debut posting rounds of 72 and 69. That said a look at his numbers so far tells us that he has done most of his work on the greens gaining over three shots with the flat stick on Friday, something he will find hard to sustain.
With conditions sure to be firmer today I expect experience to be key and Homa who has all the tools to hang tough gets the nod.
Cameron Young v Jason Day – Cameron Young
Teeing off at 18.55pm UK time we find Cameron Young and Jason Day and it’s Young who I favour here.
On his first start since winning at Sawgrass Young was not unsurprisingly slow out of the blocks on Thursday, however he made up for that on Friday gaining over three strokes in his approach play on the way to an excellent 67.
Day on the other hand after opening up with a solid 69 struggled off the tee on Friday relying on his short game to help him piece together a 71.
Both players have a strong Augusta record with Young having notched two top tens in four visits while Day has posted several top tens here over the years. It is Young though who arrives riding the crest of a wave and in far better form and he could yet get in the mix if McIlroy falters. I’ll take him to get the better of his Australian counterpart.
Tyrrell Hatton v Wyndham Clark – Tyrrell Hatton
Heading out at 19.17pm UK Time we have Tyrrell Hatton and Wyndham Clark and I’ll take Hatton to come out on top here.
Hatton as we know has a reputation of getting a bit hot under the collar. That image can sometimes hide the fact that he actually plays tough tests really well. He showed this when right in the mix for the US Open at Oakmont last year while in 2020 he was last man standing to lift the trophy on a brutal firm set up at Bay Hill.
This week he started slowly on Thursday with a 74 however on Friday he hit all 18 greens gaining nearly four strokes in approach play on his way to a superb 66.
Clark it must be said also played very solidly on Friday gaining shots across the bag on his way to a 68. In two previous visits to Augusta though he is yet to do anything of note and with Hatton having finished ninth and 14th here the past two years he gets the nod.
Patrick Reed v Justin Rose – Patrick Reed
Finally to wrap things up I will take Patrick Reed to get the better of Justin Rose when they tee off in the final pairing at 19.39 UK Time.
To be honest there is very little to choose between the duo with both having superb records at Augusta and both having produced some great golf in 2026 to data.
Rose struggled on the greens on Friday though and he could just get found out on the dance floor as the surfaces get slicker over the weekend.
On his Day Reed’s scrambling is as good as any. Add this to the fact that Rose can throw in some poor stuff at times these days and it is the American as the outsider who gets the nod.
