After each tee shot at 12 the caddies have to pick up not just the beaver tail but all the small bits too, saw several with plastic cups to make it easier to collect. Not sure if all holes, was mostly watching at greens.

I thought these were huge divots from the driving range
Nautster
Neat!

This is a common thing at courses to have a nursery, Augusta’s is just massive
afiume99
Can some one Eli5 about how this gets done? Like do caddies have 18 of these preloaded somewhere ?
StelioKontos117
That’s a lot of gopher holes.

Sir, no pictures of the divot green, banned for life.
AppleShine4798
That’s horrifying to me
Miller335
That’s pretty cool

This is awesome! They are showing a lot of faith in what I hope is a valet managed lot with those puny ropes and beer involved.

No. No I do not.

Pretty sure most golf courses have donor grass areas – this just takes things to another level. The money spent is difficult to fathom.

I know of a few high end clubs that do this daily but, like most everything else, ANGC takes it to another level.

I don’t understand (I’m an idiot and terrible golfer). Are they cutting out all those pieces of grass and laying them down on each individual divot throughout the course?
Dparry533
This is what putting on aerated greens feels like.

Playing at this place hopefully feels like an honor to most they won’t ever let me out there w 10 beers stuffed in my bag.

As a former groundskeeper at a course that tried to be a top level course, this is an insane level. Absolutely wild.

This is such a cool detail. Thanks for sharing!

Is it just me or do all those cut outs looks much deeper than a divot than a pro is taking?

I thought the crew rounded up all the divots and corralled them into the perfect lines shown above. It would not surprise me if they did.
Virtual_Trouble1516
Look at a satellite view of Augusta. They had a football field of Azaleas last time I looked. That is how they get them to be in perfect bloom all weekend.

This grosses me out.

For some bizarre reason this makes me feel sick. Like we didn’t know there were in fact little grass slaves working in the background.

I kinda expect the donor grass area to look nicer
