  1. A good start!

Let’s hope he actually *commits* to it, though…

  2. three_whack

CBS television executives are silently weeping in their offices right now.

  3. hayzooos1

Here’s to hoping he’s actually seeking help/treatment and this is more than just lip service

  4. SportzNut23

Do I blame him for looking for pain relief after all the surgeries he’s had? No. I do blame him for taking them and then hopping behind the wheel of a car.

  5. At no point did he acknowledge that what he did was wrong, stupid, dangerous.

  6. IAmNesey

How many times does he need to take time away to get “better” lol

  7. forum437

Sooo is he playing next week or not?

    Jk get better. Stop driving!

  8. Doesn’t really line up well with the “phone distraction” excuse for why he rolled his vehicle

  9. BustyUncle

Not defending, but he still has court folks and he’s fighting the charge. I would’ve been more surprised if he apologized. It’s a lawyer statement

  10. scubasteve1458

Not sure what has been reported but my buddy lives down there and works at a course nearby. He heard through the grapevine that Tiger was driving 90 between his house and the closest course, going back and forth over and over again. Multiple members had called ab it and they obviously didn’t know who it was, the cops were already on their way before he crashed. Pretty crazy and stupid.

  11. AntonCigar

Here I was thinking nearly losing his leg would have been his wake up call

  12. BlondeFox18

He’s lost all credibility at this point.

  13. Pretend-Reality5431

“I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to take this chance to apologize…to absolutely nobody.”

  14. timeforbanner18

By contrast, his 2017 statement after his DUI then:

“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods said in the statement. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.

“I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too. I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.

  15. This sounds like he copied a statement ftom an earlier incident.

  16. Delicious-Ad-1140

Douglas Duncan famed attorney will represent Tiger during this DUI proceedings. He should be severely punished with a light slap on the hand and 1 hour of community service along with donations to whoever the judge prefers.. The American Justice for the Rich once again prevails.

  17. stickyfingers40

Fuck him. Any of us normal people who have been jailed a long time ago if we acted with his level of disregard for human safety

  18. Efferdent_FTW

    “after the Master’s”
    – signed the big cat

  19. O/U Masters Sunday 2029 before we’re back here again

  20. Sea_Dawgz

I’d believe this if he didn’t sign it with his stupid nickname. “Tiger.”

Bro you are a grown man.

  21. The center justification (formatting) is the biggest crime here.

  22. geekMD69

His use of passive voice does not bode well for success.

“The situation I find myself in.” As if “I just woke up and found myself in this situation and have no idea how I got here.” (and cannot be held responsible) is a mindset he will need to let go of.

Until he says “I did something wrong and am facing justifiable consequences for it and I will try to work on why I did this thing and do whatever it takes to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

  23. Raiderdater

Well what did we expect him to say ? ” That fucking truck had it coming, hey anybody got any pills”

  24. LysanderSpoonersCat

I have no idea if I’ll word this how I intend by the end:

I unfortunately have a lot of experience with people who are/were addicted to prescription pills. And the thing is that there are so freaking many different levels to it and individual nuances to each individual addiction that sometimes the lower level addicts can actually be a greater risk to society than the crippling addict who is taking 50 oxy’s or Percocet a day and can’t realistically even leave the house, as opposed to the opioid dependent functional addict who *generally* takes his prescribed amount but it just wasn’t working for him/her today so they popped another one or two just today — or forgot they already took one and then went about their day only to be unexpectedly hit by a ton of bricks.

Not even speculating or anything about Tiger, I just hope that made some sort of sense.

  25. Seventhchild7

Where in that statement does it say he’s sorry?

  26. 1_headlight_

Show me, buddy. Don’t just tell me. Right now, it’s not possible to believe this is genuine and not empty PR speak.

  27. The real sad thing here is the inconsistent Oxford comma usage.

  28. AeroJake

So, is he playing in the masters next week or not?

  29. Brief-Tomatillo-9748

Hes only doing it for help with his sentencing

  30. Calm_Priority_8527

I’ve been recovering from spinal cancer and a subsequent surgery that’s left me – not completely disabled, but enough to end my career. I am in remission thank god, (April 7 will be my second anniversary).

As a result of all this – cancer treatment, plus six surgeries, I have been on my share of pain medication – from the very basics like Advil, to heavy hitters like hydromorphone.

If I live to be a trillion, I would never, ever, even conceive of getting behind the wheel of my Tundra and putting my life and much more importantly, the public’s lives at risk.

I’m well enough to drive now, but have to plan any time behind the wheel over a day in advance. I’m still on very low doses of narcotic pain medication and there’s no way, I’d be driving on it – regardless of how well o ‘think’ I can do.

I have absolutely zero sympathy or even empathy for Tiger Woods. Getting behind the wheel of a car, not only shows extreme arrogance, it screams entitled narcissist. And this whole ‘I need to focus on me’ is a load of horse shit…
