SALISBURY, N.C. – The Lenir-Rhyne women’s golf team posted rounds of 308-318-315 to take second at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational with a total score of 941 (+89).
Catawba, the host school, won the event with a 923 (+71). Medalist honors went to Catawba’s Mary-Paige King, who won by five strokes with a 222 (+9).
Eve Neild, ranked #58 in the country, posted her first top-10 finish of of the Spring, tying for seventh with a 231 (+18). Jaya Wilkinson joined Neild in the top-10, tying for 10th with a 234 (+21), her second best finish of the year.
As a team the Bears had the best par-3 scoring average in the field (3.15, +9) and were second on par-4s and par-5s. They also led the field with 18 birdies. Neild and Wilkinson tied for the tournament lead with an average of 2.92 (-1) on par-3s. Neild was ninth on par-5s with a 5.22 (+2).
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Lenoir-Rhyne will take part in the Lady Cougar Classic next week in Columbus, Georgia, at the Green Island Country Club.
