I have tried addressing at the toe. The only time I can hit the middle is if I have the club face almost a ball’s space inside.

Tee it higher and step a half an inch further away.

Step further from the ball. Set it up with the ball closer to the toe of the club head.

I’ve found that what works for me is ensuring that my right elbow (right-handed golfer) stays fairly close to my body on the down swing.

What length is your driver? Try choking up an inch and if that works maybe get it shortened.

Set up a hair closer and clear those hips so you don’t early extend (IMO without seeing the swing)

Do you have a center marker on top of your driver?

Just move an inch away and youre golden…

Set up to a ball and stick a tee outside the toe of the club. Swing and don’t hit the tee. Immediate feedback and is a good visual aid.

move the sticker a bit to the right

You have about 70% more club face that you are not using…. stop wasting money and use all the club.

I had this problem, what fixed it for me was just a feel during the swing to keep my heels planted. It helped me make the contact I wanted that I had aligned at address. This was after months of trying to make other adjustments like just setting the club face perpendicular to the toe, moving the ball even more forward in my stance beyond my lead foot. Nothing really worked until I got that feel.

I’ve learned this lesson over and over again. For every miss there are dozens of things that can cause it, some of them diametrically opposed. Get a lesson from a pro. Showing Reddit pictures of impact tape will not help you…. as you’ve already seen. There is already advice in the responses to stand closer and farther away, lol.

Without seeing the setup and swing or where your weight distribution is at setup, impossible to say.

However, standing father from the ball MIGHT make it worse, because if you’re too far away, you might lean into the ball to get your weight centered back up.

Sounds like you’ve figured it out already. Feel does not have to be real. Just have to be consistent which you are clearly great at. Watch tpur players closely and you’ll see they set up with driver all over the place.

Adam Young would say just try to hit a toe shot. If you’re that consistent you’ll hit the center of the face every time.

I’ve struggled with the same problem, but found a feel that seemed to work for me that’s a bit different from just stepping back like many are saying. At setup, I’ve always lined the ball up on the toe just like you’re describing. However, the key change was that I lowered my hands so the shaft wasn’t quite so upright. I still stood the same distance from the ball I normally would. Lowering the hands just pushed the toe further up in the air but from my POV it still looks lined up on the toe.

That setup position put more weight in the arches and heels of my feet and made me bend my knees more. On the backswing, it feels like my trail hip rotates with more depth away from the ball. I can also feel more tension in the right butt cheek (if you’re a right handed golfer) almost like I’m getting ready to sit down in a chair.

For me it seemed like it was clearing out space to shallow the club on the downswing. The swing definitely felt like I was hitting more up on the ball than I normally do and was finding the center of the face more consistently. Not sure this will work for you, but worth giving it a try if you’re feeling lost and tinkering with bad Reddit golf swing advice. It’s worked for me, so figured I’d share in case it helps someone else out there.

Try choking down on the shaft a whole inch.  You might want to add a little lead tape to keep the swingweight the same.  Or don’t, and see what happens.

Most drivers are too long for most people.  (But damn, does that 1/20 drive in the showroom just #*$*= *sail*.)  Heeled shots are a symptom of that club being too long.

Tip number one. Don’t get your tips from Reddit.

Tip number two. Always follow tip number one.

Step 1 inch further back and change nothing else
