For the second in my new series – Running Talk – I interviewed Andy Prior the former Head Coach of the running club I have been a member of for 8 years – Fairlands Valley Spartans, plus the owner of Andy Prior Personal Training (link below). Andy has been in sport for years and his list if qualifications is looooong:
-Open University – Understanding Human Nutrition
-Open University – Diploma in Sports Centre Management
-Open University – BSc (Hons) Sport, Fitness & Coaching
-CYQ Level 2 Gym Instructor
-CYQ Level 2 Indoor cycling instructor (spinning)
-CYQ Level 2 Group Circuit Training Instructor
-CYQ Level 3 Personal Trainer
-CYQ Level 3 Diet and Nutrition
-Boxercise instructor
-Metabolic Effect Group Trainer
-Metabolic Effect Personal Trainer
-Level 3 Sports Massage
-Level 4 Sports Injury
-Level 1 Acupuncture and Dry Needling
-UK Athletics – Leader in Running Fitness
-UK Athletics – Certificate in Running Fitness

We had a good old chat about some very interesting subjects including what it’s like to not only be a member of, but be the head coach of a pretty large running club, Couch to 5k and beyond, injury, strength training, is stretching a waste of time, are parkruns good or bad, plus much more.
It’s an hour long, so perfect to whack in your headphones whilst doing the housework, gardening or even on the treadmill 🙂

Please give us any comments and feedback and please check out Andy’s business and Facebook with these links:
