Lmao trying to figure out what golf balls he has left and Rick named the wrong 3 every time
Why dont brands just lean into their older gear winning. be like "look, even our 4 year old technology can win! our newest driver is built upon that legacy, you know it can win in your bag this season, and season to come." most people dont replace their drivers every year. I dont understand why they cant celebrate.
If you don’t think that hitting them would give you much more info, we have to question whether there really is much difference between the balls 🤷♂️
Rick, stop moting, very annoying, you're not singing a ballad!
How is it blind testing if Ricks looking at the balls? He should just hit them surely
Is guy secretly 10 years old?
I don't know your name, guy running the blind ball test, but you suck at your job. Lazy with the reveal graphics & constantly forgetting what their choices were during testing.
That test had potential but you all missed the point till right at the end when Guy twigged and realised you should have been hitting them instead of inspecting them.
The whole point of the ball test to see if they can feel and tell the difference! Looking at the ball and guessing achieves nothing… what a pointless exercise!! Ruined it, should have been hit only and guess from that. That was the whole point of Jacks email.
"Blind" testing and Rick proceeds to hold it close and stare at it… Not the point! Blind testing based on colour and dimples and not feel… Good job guys
It should simply be, hitting them and ranking in order of best feeling.
Callaway 2026 CT-X is the best ball ever created
I think it's easy to tell the difference between say a Srixon distance and a TM tour response as they feel and sound different off the face on full shots and then around the green it's easy to tell between a 2 piece and 4 piece premium ball when chipping as the spin advantage shows, I've been up to the practice area at the club hit 10 chips with a Srixon distance then the same with 10 TP5s and it's a huge difference so much so that you have to hit different shots to allow for the way each ball plays, I don't think it makes a scoring difference to me at my level but they do feel different. (but that's an extreme comparison and not a blind test) I don't understand why Rick and Guy didn't hit the balls to judge spin, feel off the face and sound…hence they failed IMO.
The only “blind” part of this was the “awareness” around the 50-minute mark of the 3 brands left to be assigned. It was all so daft and went off the rails so wrong and so quickly that the Ed’s couldn’t even spare us by cutting some of it out!
To be fair, the important thing with golf balls is CONSISTENCY. Kirkland had a big problem with that until the new 3.5 ball. Amazon balls are not consistent. Anyone can make a good feeling ball these days. it's not the 1990s anymore. The question is consistent performance.
Surely the point of the blind test was about how the balls feel/play and not their looks?
the blind test should be hitting it not looking at it
I just fitted for a extra long, x stiff shaft last night. Apparently due to the rules my balls have to be the same size as everyone else though.
That has to be the worst blind test ever guys. Pretty sure the question posed to guy stated he couldn’t tell what ball he was hitting
The guys from Embers Golf do the best blind ball tests. Hilarious results! Needless to say we should all just play Kirkland balls.
Shame, you missed the point with the blind ball test. Each ball should be put on the ground in front of you, and you hit it, you can't inspect it or touch it! Do it again.
best golf pod cast you guys are awsome, and i get it, im 6'-5'' and play 1.25'' long and 2 deg upright mizuno overpriced m15 love them
Stupid test and completely irrelevant! Should hit them, rank them and then reveal which is which
Broomstick? In America we also call it a butter churner putter. 🧈😅
925 hot metal hl here…guy stop spying on me! Typed from my android phone, with bank cards securely in place on the other side…lost my national insurance card about 20 years ago though 😂
I want to know where I can buy a 50ft pencil
Apparently "Blind" means examining the balls like you're trying to read Braille and Fine Print at the same time.
If you want to do a decent blind test (without it being too exhausting), have someone place or tee up the ball and you hit them. Hit each ball in completely random orders. Hit each ball a couple of times (not back to back, so always changing) and with a few different clubs (so 2 or 3 hits in total with each of, say, driver, 7i, and wedge).. so you'll hit each ball 6 to 9 times.
After every shot, give it a quick and dirty rating out of 100 (be harsh).. feel free to try and call out a specific ball.. At the end we'll get to see if the scores were consistent and which balls scored best.
You've got to re run the test and just hit them without all the inspections! Whole point of a blind test is to do it purely on feel!
GC 😂😂😂
The comments stopped me from wasting my time watching this video. Thanks, guys!
