I’ll start by saying that it is entirely likely that I need a reality check, so let me have it if that is the case.

I am running an OG Skytrak with an outdoor hitting net (see photo). The first photo is with a Sim2 8-iron and the 2nd photo is with a Kirkland 60 deg. I am using Vice Pro balls.

I posted the 60 deg shot to show that I indeed can get backspin on the ball and that my Skytrak can pick it up. The problem I’m having is I can’t get any decent backspin on my 8-iron, or any of my irons in general. PW-LW is not an issue, I get decent stopping power out of those.

I have tried all the tips for Skytrak. Draw a thick line on the ball, use a tee, check the height of the Skytrak, adjust lighting, move the ball 1-2 inches behind the laser, etc. Nothing is getting me optimal spin numbers. I’m aware that Sim2 is a GI iron, so an 8-iron is really the loft of a 7-iron, so mixed with a Vice Pro ball, I shouldn’t be expecting 8000 spin. But I am consistently in the mid-high 4000s and this 5000+ was one of the few I was able to muster today.

Is this what I should be expecting? I’m a 19hcp, so I am by no means “good.” I’ll be the first to say that the problem is likely me, I just want to make sure it is me and not something I can be fixing with the setup.

Bright direct sun with a lot of reflection around? Maybe try a darker surface arrive your may to reduce glare? Mine with fine unless the glare gets too high from my light concrete patio FTTT. Then again it gets too hot then, so I wait a could hours
