ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The University of Hawai’i women’s golf team battled through the final round of the GameAbove Invitational Tuesday at the Rolling Hills Country Club.

Despite the challenging layout of the 6,564-yard, par-72 course, the Rainbow Wahine closed out the tournament with a final-round 320 to finish in 11th place with a cumulative total of 946 (+82).

Southern California utilized its home-course advantage to seize a commanding victory and capture the team title, finishing at an impressive 22-under par (842). The Trojans’ dominance was highlighted by Kylie Chong, who maintained her individual lead to win the tournament at 11-under par 205 after firing a 68 in her final round. Behind USC in the team standings were Texas A&M (854) and Oregon (874).

Leading the way for the Hawai’i contingent was Emiko Sverduk, who remained steady in a tie for 41st place after shooting consecutive 77s in the final two rounds following an opening 76 for a 230 (+14) total. Her ability to consistently navigate the demanding green complexes at Rolling Hills provided a solid anchor for the Rainbow Wahine lineup.

Sofina Firouzi followed Sverduk on the leaderboard, finishing tied for 52nd place with a 238 (+22) total after carding an 81 in her final 18 holes. The middle of the UH scorecard featured Maline Kraus, who finished in 56th place at 24-over par (240). Rounding out the squad were Chloe Ku and Jasmine Wong, who both concluded the tournament tied for 57th place at 28-over par (244).

The Rainbow Wahine will next host the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, March 17-18 at Pearl at Kalauao.
