Kai Trump is drawing attention online after a YouTube vlog documenting a shopping trip to upscale Los Angeles grocery chain Erewhon sparked criticism over the cost of the items featured in the video.
The 18-year-old golfer uploaded a nearly 19-minute video showing herself browsing the premium supermarket while accompanied by her Secret Service detail. The vlog was initially titled “I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon” before later being renamed “I Tried the World’s Most Expensive Grocery Store.” In the clip, Trump samples several of the store’s signature items and reacts to the prices as she walks viewers through her purchases.

At one point in the video, she jokes to the camera that she is “about to go bankrupt” after spotting an Erewhon-branded sweatshirt priced at $165. Trump eventually leaves the store with a basket of items that includes a viral $21 Hailey Bieber “Strawberry Glaze Skin” smoothie and a $10 lemonade. The total for the grocery run comes to $233, which she later reviews for her more than 1.4 million YouTube subscribers.
The store featured in the video has become known for premium organic products and celebrity-driven food collaborations, often drawing attention for high prices compared with typical grocery chains. Some shoppers visit specifically for limited-edition smoothies and branded merchandise, while others highlight the store’s reputation as one of the most expensive grocery destinations in Los Angeles.
Trump’s vlog arrives as the teenager continues to build her online presence alongside her golf career. She launched her YouTube channel in November 2024 and has since built a sizable following across platforms, including millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram. The eldest daughter of Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr., she has also entered the apparel space with her own clothing line, where sweatshirts have previously retailed for about $130.
Away from social media, Trump has been pursuing competitive golf. The University of Miami commit has competed in amateur tournaments and previously appeared in an LPGA event while continuing to build her profile as a young athlete. Her family has also appeared at several golf events tied to Tiger Woods, whose relationship with Vanessa Trump became public in 2025.
