Joey Barton is once again in trouble with the law. The former England midfielder was taken into police custody Tuesday morning following an alleged assault at a golf club last Sunday.
Emergency services responded to the incident, and a man was treated at a hospital for facial and rib injuries.
Merseyside Police confirmed that Barton, 43, and another 50-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of assault. They are currently being questioned by investigators as the police continue their inquiry into the altercation.
