Is the PGA Tour pushing course conditions too far? After Round 2 of the 2026 Arnold Palmer Invitational, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler didn’t hold back, describing the Bay Hill greens as “already dead.”

From tossing his ball into the lake on the 18th to watching “trampoline” bounces on the 15th, Scottie’s frustration is reaching a boiling point. We break down the “straight carnage” at Arnie’s place, the purple/brown green conditions, and how Scottie is fighting to stay in contention with his new TaylorMade Qi4D driver.

If you’re on the journey to Scratch at 50, you know that mental toughness is everything—but as Scottie says, sometimes “Bay Hill is just beating us up.”

  1. It's okay to say you are not playing well and show some class. Better yet avoid the cameras if you can when you're in a mood.

  2. The whole course looked burnt.Making a course hard by making greens hard as glass is a copout because they cant make the course long enough to make it difficult for todays equipment.

  3. Golf is hard. He's been playing at a inhuman level for quite some time and I can imagine it makes the struggles way more brutal to experience.

  4. He looked tired in his eyes. Maybe its just the week, or perhaps its the accumulation over time of the constant reminder AND expectation of being #1. What's that really matter, anyway? His overall performance speaks for itself. If he has a lull, that's OK. I always likened golfers to surfers….you paddle and paddle against the waves to catch a good one. When you do – ride it for as long as you can because eventually it will end and you have to paddle again to catch another one.

  5. Scheffler has as much personality as a 4 iron. He projects a negative attitude and I can see why the police arrested him at Louisville at Valhalla PGA Championship
