The President of the United States is being accused of a “disrespectful” golf hat move.
President Trump, 79, is facing blowback for his choice of outfit at a slain soldier’s dignified transfer ceremony. On Saturday, President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance, and members of the President’s Cabinet attended the ceremony for six slain U.S. soldiers, killed in a March 1 drone attack in Iran.
The President of the United States was seen wearing a white USA golf hat. He’s being accused of a disrespectful move, though. Many are saying that wearing a golf hat to that kind of ceremony is distasteful.
“This fool has ABSOLUTELY no sense of dignity or appreciation for the moment. It is called the Dignified Transfer for a reason. Take your damn hat off!!” Michael Steele shared on X.
According to Grok, no prior U.S. president has worn a hat at that kind of ceremony.
“No, no prior U.S. president has been documented wearing a baseball cap (or any hat) during a dignified transfer at Dover AFB. Obama (first president to attend, in 2009 and later) and Biden participated in formal suits/ties, saluting solemnly without headwear. Bush did not attend these ceremonies in the same public capacity,” it reads.
The criticism against Trump continues to pour in
Many are ripping President Trump for the decision.
“The president is wearing a white golf cap. At Dover,” Tom Nichols shared.
He added: “I’m a grown man who knows not to wear a hat during this kind of event.”
President Trump rocks his MAGA and USA hats at all sorts of events. This is hardly the first time he’s chosen to do it at an event of significance. However, he’s facing more blowback for this one than any previous one, it seems.
